Interested in Participating More in the Iowa GIS Community?

Most GIS users in Iowa are familiar with the Iowa Geographic Information Council (IGIC), but if not, IGIC is a group of GIS users mainly in Iowa with an overarching goal to foster an efficient GIS environment in Iowa.

Leading IGIC is a board of directors that makes decisions to promote and coordinate that effort of fostering GIS in the state.  Every two years many of the positions on the board become open for anyone interested in helping guide the Iowa GIS community.  If you are interested or know someone who might be interested, the nomination period is open until May 18th.

There are representatives from private industry, education, and all levels of government.  Even if you are not interested in becoming a board member, it is a good group to be involved in.
