It's Another Hot One!

It's hot out there, and anyone who spends time in the soil knows it's dry too!  Much of the country is experiencing different levels of drought, and within Iowa the drought conditions vary.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration makes available an assortment of drought related products for public viewing.  The image below is a nation wide drought map.

There are weekly updates that you can view, or if you are interested in working with the data they use to create the maps, you can download up-to-date GIS files on precipitation, soil moisture, evaporation, and a few other datasets that cover where you live.

Grab a cold lemonade and check them out!
