Iowa! Best Metadata State Ever?

Yesterday the Iowa GIS Service Bureau hosted the third of four metadata training sessions in the GIS lab at Iowa State University.  Attendees included people from state agencies, county government, city government, and two universities.

It was another great group to work with, and the attendees all seemed to leave with their questions answered.  John Parker from Iowa's Legislative Services Agency described it as, "very helpful in providing an overview of metadata", and added that it, "included individual help creating metadata for files we use everyday."

Metadata is important for any person or organization that shares GIS data with others.  As our statewide GIS community keeps expanding the need for metadata will expand with it.  There is only one more training session left.  Contact Amy Logan or Evan Koester if you would like to attend.
